Neymar is pleased Brazil will not have to go up against Lionel Messi when they take on Argentina in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.Messi was not included in Lionel Scaloni’s squad for the second successive set of internationals as speculation over his Argentina future in the wake of a disappointing World Cup campaign rumbles on.Neymar acknowledged the absence of his former Barcelona team-mate is a blow for the spectators watching the game, but he feels it gives Brazil a greater chance of overcoming their rivals.

However, the Paris Saint-Germain star was keen to emphasise that Argentina still possess great quality, singling out Paulo Dybala as an example of the talent in their ranks.“For those who love football, having Messi out of a game like this is bad. But for us it’s good,” Neymar told a pre-match news conference. “We never underestimate Argentina’s quality, the players they have in their squad. After operating from the left wing for much of his career, Neymar has on occasion been used in the number 10 position by Thomas Tuchel at PSG this season.

The 26-year-old, who assisted Gabriel Jesus and Alex Sandro in Friday’s 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia, enjoys the playmaking aspect of the role and is open to any demands placed upon him.“I think, depending on the match, it might be necessary to change the position a little, but that’s the decision of the coach, not me,” said Neymar.

“In Paris, I’ve been playing centrally and here, Tite gives me more freedom, not only to stay in the centre but also up front.“Over the years a player will look for their best position … it is part of football, but I think I still have a lot to give.“The more you play, the more experience you have and will know the time to decide a match or go forward. I know how to do this on the pitch and I know my role.

“I am an attacker on my team, a playmaker. Not just me, but also [Philippe] Coutinho, [Roberto] Firmino, Lucas [Moura], [Gabriel] Jesus – we are there to create chances, to set up our team-mates.“I’m happy, I do not run away from any responsibility on the pitch. I look to dribble, create opportunities.”

Match Preview

Both Brazil and Argentina are gearing up for the 2019 Copa America, so the autumn friendly games offer an opportunity for coaches to experiment with personnel and fine-tune tactics.

Argentina are shorn of some of their most recognisable performers for the game, with Messi, Aguero and Di Maria among those not in the squad, but their absence has allowed space for the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Ricardo Pereyra to shine, not to mention the likes of Icardi and Paulo Dybala.

Brazil, on the other hand, boast a typically strong panel, with Tite including stars such as Neymar and Philippe Coutinho in his squad for the match. Nevertheless, the 57-year-old has included a number of new faces, with the likes of Richarlison, Arthur and Malcom being given a chance to impress.

Tite was not pleased with his side’s performance in their 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia last week and he will be demanding a much more passionate display against their bitter rivals.

“We were not convincing,” Tite told reporters of his side’s victory. “We won because we had creativity up front and that was it. Brazil versus Argentina is never a friendly. We hope to be better for that.”

Belgium vs Netherlands

Belgium vs Netherlands: Belgium and the Netherlands will resume their historic rivalry on Tuesday, when the two neighbours go head-to-head in an international friendly in Brussels.

Both teams are coming off impressive wins over sides ranked inside the top 15 of the FIFA rankings, with Belgium beating Switzerland and the Netherlands winning against Germany.

Oddschecker has the Red Devils as 4-7 favourites, while Oranje sport odds of 5-1. A draw comes in at 11-4.

Kick-off will be at 7:45 p.m. BST (2:45 p.m. ET). Live-stream options will be available via the Sky Go Extra app (for UK viewers) and ESPN+ (for U.S. viewers).

This derby dates back to 1905 and ranks as one of the most frequently contested international matches in the world, with 125 official meetings so far.

The Netherlands have historically had the upper hand with 55 wins―compared to Belgium’s 41―but the Red Devils have been the better side of late. They have yet to lose to their neighbours this century and last tasted defeat in 1997.

Some of the Red Devils opened up on the rivalry in a recent interview:

For decades, Belgium were the underdogs in this rivalry, but the fortunes of both nations have reversed of late. The Red Devils are now ranked No. 1 in the world and made it to the semi-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, while the Netherlands have failed to qualify for the last two major international tournaments.

Belgium’s form under manager Roberto Martinez has been sensational:

View image on Twitter

The Netherlands have struggled during that span but will take confidence from their 3-0 win over 2014 world champions Germany. Die Mannschaft have also struggled and were far from their best, but Oranje’s performance was impressive, nonetheless.

The Dutch have a talented generation of players who have taken their first steps with the national team, headlined by the Ajax duo of Matthijs de Light and Frenkie de Jong.

Bleacher Report’s Sam Tighe believes the former and Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk could form a special partnership for years to come

Van Dijk won’t feature due to injury, however, per the Liverpool Echo‘s Ian Doyle.

The Dutch will be tested by one of the world’s best attacking international teams, as the Belgians have continued to score freely even without Kevin De Bruyne. Romelu Lukaku always seems to step it up in the national-team shirt and Eden Hazard is in the form of his life.

Belgium have the edge in experience and should win the midfield battle at home, and that could prove the difference here. Five of the last seven derbies have ended in draws, however, and a similar outcome would not be a surprise.

Prediction: Belgium 1-1 Netherlands

France vs Germany

France vs Germany: Germany will be looking to return to form on Tuesday as they take on world champions France in the Uefa Nations League.

In the previous Nations League match between these two sides, Germany managed to hold France to a goalless draw but followed that up with a 3-0 humiliation at the hands of the Netherlands last time out – whom Les Bleus beat.

Match preview
When these two sides last met, it was set to be a fiery encounter between the past two winners of the World Cup – one of which had just endured a terrible tournament in Russia with the future in doubt.

But the goalless draw told us more about Germany’s failings, with Die Mannschaft still yet to truly recover from finishing bottom of their World Cup group – losing 3-0 to the Netherlands last time out.

Germany manager Joachim Low is still comfortable in his role at the helm but the defeat to the Netherlands showed real holes that look some way off being filled.

Despite their World Cup triumph, France have also been slightly under par since, winning just one of their three matches post-Russia – a 2-1 win over the Netherlands in the Uefa Nations League.

Last time out, Les Bleus had to come from behind to draw 2-2 with Iceland, thanks to a late own goal and injury-time penalty from Kylian Mbappe.

While the first Nations League match between the sides may have underwhelmed, Tuesday’s meeting looks set to bring the heat with Germany seriously fighting for pride.

What is going on with Germany?
The World Cup was undeniably a disaster for Germany, with the then-defending world champions bowing out at the group stages. And it appears, with Joachim Low still in charge, Die Mannschaft are yet to work out what is wrong.

Having showed signs of weakness against France and Peru in the first international break, Die Mannschaft hit new lows as they were pulled apart by the Netherlands who looked to have paid close attention to their opponents and which points to exploit.

Could Germany be relegated if they lose?
Fortunately, for Germany, a defeat against France on Tuesday would not immediately relegate the former world champions.

The point against Les Bleus last time out would keep them up for the time being, still being just two points behind the Netherlands – who would have two games left to play.

But, a defeat would spell danger with Germany having just one game left to play in the group – against the Netherlands.

What happened to France against Iceland?
On the face of it, France’s 2-2 draw against Iceland looked like a shock averted for the reigning world champions.

Going into the match, Iceland had not won in their previous nine matches and were beaten 5-2 by France when the sides last met in Euro 2016. But the visitors had initially made the most of their chances while Les Bleus were punished for a lack of conviction in front of goal – coupled with resting a few bigger players.

But then, up stepped Kylian Mbappe to turn the show around, capping it off with a late equaliser.

Head-to-head
In a run including World Cup glory, France have had an exceptional year losing just one of their 15 matches so far. Meanwhile, Germany have managed only three wins in their 10 games in 2018, losing five and drawing the other two.

Tuesday’s meeting will be the 31st time France and Germany have faced off against each other with the current world champions slightly edging the record with 13 wins.

Die Mannschaft have won 10 with seven draws, including last time these two met in September.

Team news
France rested a host of players in their 2-2 draw against Iceland last time out, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and N’Golo Kante starting from the bench. But given the competitive nature of Tuesday’s game the pair are likely to return to the starting XI with Kurt Zouma, Mamadou Sakho and Presnel Kimpembe fighting it out to partner Raphael Varane in defence.

Meanwhile, Germany will once again be without Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, who pulled out of the squad with a groin injury, with Ilkay Gundogan, Marco Reus and teenage sensation Kai Havertz also missing. But Joachim Low may look to ring the changes from the defeat to the Netherlands in hope to inspire something positive.

1. France to win to nil @ 9/5
Last time these two faced off, a goalless draw was the result, and given the past form of France and Germany, the latter could fail to score once more.

Germany’s 3-0 defeat against the Netherlands brought the third consecutive game in a row in which Die Mannschaft have failed to score – the first time that has ever happened.

In contrast, France have a good record this calendar year, winning 10 of their 15 games so far which did include the World Cup.Kylian Mbappe is a ridiculously good footballer, regardless of his age. Against Iceland, the teenager stepped up to rescue Les Bleus from a shock defeat, in doing so becoming the youngest player in the history of the France senior team to reach 10 goals.

The youngster has also been involved in the the joint-most goals in Europe’s top five leagues, scoring eight and recording three assists for club side Paris Saint-Germain, despite playing just 405 minutes.

Key Stat: Kylian Mbappe has scored 68 goals for club and country in his career so far, with only one coming from the penalty spot.

Tip: Kylian Mbappe to score anytime @ 4/1 with William Hill – bet here

With Germany looking to show more defensively solidity than they did against the Netherlands, Joachim Low’s men will be set up more securely at the back, frustrating France’s forward line.

Though France should ultimately get the win, Les Bleus may need to work for it, beating Germany by a slender margin.

Key Stat: Only one of the past five meetings between France and Germany has seen over 2.5 goals.

Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 10/11 with William Hill – bet here

Packers 49ers  Live: C.J. Beathard and the San Francisco 49ers visit Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in a high-stakes Monday Night Football game for both teams. San Francisco is 1-4 and needs a win to snap a three-game losing streak, while Green Bay (2-2-1) fell at Detroit last week and is trying to get back on track. Temperatures are expected to be in the 30s with 10 mph winds in the final game of Week 6, which kicks at 8:15 p.m. ET. The latest Packers vs. 49ers odds from Lambeau Field show Green Bay favored by 9 points, up 1.5 from the opening line. The Over-Under for total points scored is 46. SportsLine expert R.J. White has an incredible record picking Green Bay games, so before making your own Packers vs. 49ers picks and predictions, you need to see what he is saying about it.

White was SportsLine’s most profitable NFL analyst last season and returned $100 bettors a profit of nearly $2,000. The renowned prognosticator has also cashed big in the prestigious Las Vegas SuperContest two of the last three years and now turned his eye toward Monday Night Football. In addition, White is an incredible 19-3 mark on spread picks involving the Packers. That includes a perfect 4-0 this season.

Now, White has analyzed 49ers vs. Packers from every angle and locked in a strong point-spread pick. You can only see it at SportsLine.

White knows the Packers go as Rodgers goes. He’s forged on through a knee sprain, but you wouldn’t know it by his numbers. He’s passed for 1,572 yards with 10 TDs and one INT, including a season-high 442 yards against the Lions last week.

Running back Aaron Jones, back from a suspension to open the season, has forced defenses to pay attention to Green Bay’s ground game. He has rushed for 147 yards on 24 carries (6.1 average), while Jamaal Williams has 195 yards.

The Packers’ defense has done its part, ranking fourth in the NFL with 314 total yards allowed per game, including No. 2 against the pass (209). Eleven different players have registered sacks, led by linebackers Blake Martinez and Kyle Fackrell with three apiece.

Just because Rodgers’ knee is holding up doesn’t mean the Packers will cover a sizable spread on Monday Night Football.

White also knows Beathard has averaged 324 yards with four TDs in his two games since replacing Jimmy Garoppolo (ACL). The Niners have proven they can get up and down the field. Not turning the ball over will be critical to staying within the spread.

While the QB situation is a work in progress, the run game has picked up the slack, ranking fourth in the NFL at 136 yards per game. Running back Matt Breida is a game-time decision with an ankle injury. If he can’t go or is limited, look for a heavy dose of Alfred Morris on early downs and Kyle Juszczyk in the passing attack. The fullback had six catches last week for 75 yards.

Meanwhile, San Francisco’s defense has done an impressive job stopping the run, allowing just 3.7 yards per carry all season. The Niners rank 11th in yards allowed, holding the Vikings, Chiefs and Chargers under 385 yards before completely shutting down the Cardinals last week.

We can tell you White is leaning Over for Packers vs. 49ers, but he’s found a crucial X-factor that causes one side of the spread to hit hard. He’s sharing what it is, and who to back, at SportsLine.
